That is my word for 2012.
Instead of choosing a string of goals (which I have anyway in the back of my mind) I choose one word to live by for the whole year. This is a challenge from Ali Edwards, a blogger I follow. Her post about One Little Word here.
2012 is the year of the marathon (not sure which one yet). So I chose run.
Sometimes I think I get caught up in how many miles I need to do, and beating myself up when I don't do enough. But I want to just run...and enjoy it. If I run, many benefits follow. Better sleep, better health, I eat better, and better prioritize my time. I deal with stress better too! I've also met new friends through running and read new books (reading Born to Run and loving it!)
I've run 4 half marathons on the last two years. And I've read that age 26 is a woman's most optimal age for athletic achievement. So 2012 seems like a good year to tackle my first marathon.
My husband also chose a word this year which I'm excited about! He chose healthy. He works long hours on second shift and goes to grad school part time, so he's incredibly busy; eating right and working out sometime fall by the wayside (which I totally understand, sometimes I'm not sure how he functions!)
What would be your one word that you would like to live by for 2012?
