So being in the midwest, we didn't physically feel the impact of Hurricane Sandy. But we still hurt and want to help those affected.
If you are asking how you can help, and you like to run, please join me in Race for Recovery, a virtual race organzied by a NYC running mom.
The mom wanted to help, but has two little ones at home, so decided to see how a virtual race would pan out. After reaching out to several sponsors, she was able to garner some support (and prizes!)
The donations will benefit the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, which runs a race to commemorate 9/11. They are collecting donations for the Hurricane Sandy Relief as well, and their information is here.
Read her blog post here and then take these steps:
Step 1: Sign up: Race Registration (The more you donate, the more you are entered to win the prizes).
Step 2: Donate here at the Crowdrise website.
Step 3: You need to run a 5K or 10K (or both) on or before December 8th. This could be on your own or with some friends.
Step 4: Record your results here!
Let me know if you sign up and if you're in the Madison area, interested in running together!
