Ah, the one little word.
This year, mine is:
ac·com·plish
transitive verb \ə-ˈkäm-plish, -ˈkəm-\
One Little Word is word that you choose for the year. My last year's word was run. This is a concept created by another blogger, Ali Edwards. From Ali's blog:
In 2006, I began a tradition of choosing one word for myself each January—a word that I can focus on, meditate on, and reflect upon as I go about my daily life. My words have included play, peace, vitality, nurture, story, light and up. These words have each become a part of my life in one way or another. They've been embedded into who I am, and into who I'm becoming. They've been what I've needed (and didn't know I needed). They've helped me to breathe deeper, to see clearer and to grow.

This year, I choose accomplish for many reasons.
First, I feel that this is my year to really make a difference in my career. I'm full of ideas and juice, and can't wait to try and implement them all.
Second, there are many hobbies, projects, and books that I take on without finishing. This is the year of accomplishing them. Completing a book before starting another. Learning my camera. Learning Photoshop.
And third, I want to accomplish a sub-4:30 marathon. It may seem doable, especially after running a 2:05 half-marathon, but my last two full marathons have been 4:45's. This is my year to accomplish that goal.
Accomplish!
It's a funny word to look at after typing it several times.
This year, I'm also joining a One Little Word workshop where once a month, you reflect and document your word with guidance from Ali Edwards. I'm really excited.
If you could choose a word to live by for 2013, what would you choose and why?
